Hi, I’m Garrett!

Hi! I’m Garrett Zartman, born in Fort Worth, Texas and now living in the beautiful city of Austin. I’m an avid bike rider, longboarder, and boulderer(erer) when I have time to get outside, and my friends can attest I’ll know any car or motorcycle from a glance.

My love for filmmaking began as a kid, helped by my family to make action and horror shorts using whatever variety of props interested me that day. Since then, I began to pursue my passion for film in high school and furthered my education with a B.S. in Radio-Television-Film at UT Austin. In my time there, I worked to build a basis in all aspects of production. My proudest achievements during that time were my 20+ gaffing credits, completing my first indie feature role as a gaffer / AC swing, and ending my time at UT being the cinematographer for the musical thesis short “Locksmith”.

I’ve since started working in the Austin equipment rental space, building on my training from school to start towards mastering camera systems from ARRI and RED to Sony and Blackmagic.

With experience working in the Austin equipment rental space, My current gear list is short, but I’ve trained in nearly every camera system under the sun during my time in school, including ARRI, RED, Sony, Canon, Panasonic, Blackmagic.
